What is Colorado Counseling?

Colorado Counseling, LLC is a cognitive-behavioral therapy and counseling service that was founded by Dan Cavicchio, MA, LPC, NCC. All services offered by Dan are provided on a sliding-scale basis. One of Dan's goals is to make psychotherapy widely available.

Please note that if you are on a fixed income or are seeking extremely affordable services in the Denver/Boulder metro area, you may also want to explore the counseling programs at the following centers and clinics. Counseling services at these orgainzations are provided by supervised graduate students, and are offered as low at $15/session:

Dan Joseph Cavicchio, MA, LPC, NCC

Dan is a cognitive-behavioral therapist, career counselor, and human resources consultant who focuses on active, results-oriented approaches to psychotherapy. He has written several books and dozens of articles on psychology, personal growth, and philosphical/spiritual themes. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor.

In addition to his formal graduate work in counseling, Dan has attended cognitive-behavioral therapy seminars with a variety of clinicians, including Dr. David Burns, author of Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy. Dan completed his clinical graduate internship at People House in Denver.

Dan integrates a wide variety of cognitive therapy approaches in his work, including methods from Dr. Albert Ellis's Rational-Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy. He also draws on the new strengths-based interventions of Seligman's Positive Psychology research.

Prior to his work as a therapist, Dan founded several businesses in the human resources and publishing fields.
